Introduction
Have you ever taken herbs when you had malaria or swallowed a tablet when you had a headache?
Both are drugs — one came from nature, the other from science. Drugs are powerful helpers from Allah’s creation and man’s discovery. When used rightly, they heal and restore life.
Meaning of Drug:
A drug is a substance used to prevent, cure, or control diseases in humans and animals.
Types of Drugs:
1. Naturally Occurring Drugs:
These are obtained directly from nature — plants or animals.
Examples: Ginger, Aloe vera, Garlic, Quinine, Palm kernel oil.
Synthetic Drugs:
These are man-made in laboratories using chemicals.
Examples: Paracetamol, Panadol, Amoxicillin, Chloroquine, Ibuprofens
Differences between Natural and Synthetic Drugs:

Importance of Drugs:
1. Cure and prevent diseases.
