Introduction
The world around us breathes and speaks in two silent languages — life and stillness. The chirping bird, the flowing river, and even the rustling leaves tell a story of life, while the stone, the table, and the sand remain calm witnesses. Everything in creation — seen and unseen — has a purpose. Understanding living and non-living things is like discovering the heartbeat of creation.
Meaning of Living Things
Living things are things that have life. They can move, grow, feed, reproduce, and die.
Examples: Man, animals, plants, birds, fish, etc.

1. Movement
2. Respiration (breathing)
3. Nutrition (feeding)
4. Growth
5. Reproduction
6. Excretion (removing waste)
7. Sensitivity (responding to changes)
8. Death
Meaning of Non-Living Things

“And of all things We created two mates; perhaps you will remember.” — Qur’an 51:49
This teaches us that everything — living or not — has a role in Allah’s creation.
Reflection (Smart Deen Thought)
Even what seems lifeless has a purpose in Allah’s plan. Every creature and object teaches a lesson in balance and beauty.
“Nothing in creation is useless — not even the silent stone.” — Smart Deen Academy
